Mummy Stories          Teachers Guide

Start by giving students the Mummy Mythology Test (page 11). Go over the correct answers, providing appropriate information from Chapters 1 and 2. Then read portions of the book which describe some unusual mummies that have been found (Chapter 4: Tollund Man; Chapter 9, Elmer McCurdy; Chapter 11, the Lemon Grove mummies).

Writing/research activities: Copy the Mummy Report (page 163) and ask students to visit a local museum (which has a mummy display) or find one mummy description in a library book and complete the Mummy Report.
