Bodies from the Bog

Hello, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders!

I visited Orangewood recently and had a great time! We didn't have a lot of time together but you listened well and asked good questions. If you have any more questions (or just want to say hi), you can e-mail me here. I hope you enjoyed yourself as much as I did.

Reading a ghost story from THE VERY REAL GHOST BOOK OF CHRISTINA ROSE4th Grade: I spoke to you about my books and how my ideas come from my childhood experiences. I read you two stories from my novel The Very Real Ghost Book of Christina Rose: part of Chapter One (you can read all of Chapter One here) and Madame Olga's ghost story (it's not on-line, but you can read her son Roberto's ghost story here). You can find even more ghost stories at this link.

5th and 6th grades: I spoke to you about mummies and how I got my idea to write two books about them. I showed you slides of some gross (but fascinating) and not too disgusting mummies. Some of the mummies I talked about were: the Guanajuato mummies, the stolen mummies from Mexico, the Iceman from Italy, and (my favorite) bog bodies. And don't forget Senbi the Scribe from ancient Egypt. If you want to know even more about mummies you can visit my mummy website at www.mummytombs.com.

Thank you to your librarians, Melodie Koe and Cathy Kim, for arranging such a terrific day.

Keep on reading and writing!!
