Hello, Asher Holmes Students!

I visited you recently and met with the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. You made me feel very welcome with all the posters and the big sign...your school was so beautiful with its colorful murals.

I talked to you about my nonfiction books: How to Read Your Mother's Mind, How to Make a Mummy Talk, and Bodies from the Bog. I also mentioned my novel The Very Real Ghost Book of Christina Rose.

I read an ESP story about a boy and a snake from my book, How to Read Your Mother's Mind. (If you want to read some more ESP stories, follow this link.) I also read one of my favorite mummy stories: the honey mummy. You'll find more mummy stories here. I also read Professor Barrymore's Second Ghost Story from my Christina Rose book; that was the one about the dogs in the dustbin. The 6th grade had a special treat: a quick tour of Egyptian mummies (you can find out more about mummies, Egyptian and otherwise, here).

I told you that my childhood had a big influence on the books I write--like my interest in (and fear of) ghosts and UFOs and buried pirate treasure and ESP and mummies (and mummy movies). You were a great audience and asked so many good questions that we needed more time.

I also had a chance to meet with some of you during my autograph sessions. Thank you all for making my visit so special (I hope you thought of some stories to write). I want to thank Mrs. Freilich (and your great teachers, principal, and staff) for making my visit so nice.

If you want to e-mail me to ask question or just say hi, you can reach me here.
