School Visits

Fourth Avenue Junior High School

Yuma, Arizona

Hello, Yuma! I visited you to talk about mummies, writing, and reading to the students in archeology, literature, and reading classes. I had a great time that day, and I've received lots of nice e-mail from you, too.

Thanks to these students for writing me:

Angel F., Stephanie C., Cecelia F., Nicole T., Luisana M., Laura I., Cristina T., Jorge R., Adriana S., Candace C., Martin, and Paul M.

I also want to thank Mrs. Shrope, Miss Sheehan, Mrs. Finder, and Miss Sanborn for inviting me into their classrooms to talk to students. Thanks also to Mrs. Thompson (the principal) for helping the day to happen. And a special, final thanks to Miss Garrett, science and archeology teacher, for her hard work. She even found time to make two mummies:

(1) she made one by using a plastic Halloween skeleton and papier maché. Click on the thumbnailed pictures below to see a larger view.

(2) she made El Chikkén by mummifying a chicken. Click here to see the results!

Keep on reading and writing!

And if you want to e-mail me, you can reach me here.
